The La Crosse Sailing Club's Annual
Authentic Door County Fish Boil

Saturday Sept 12, 2009
Coordinated by Bill and Maureen Plczk, experts in Fish Boil magic along with their very experienced helpers!

This year we will have two Boils for the fish as it is such a popular event for our club; our pot can not cook all the fish at once. The first Boil is scheduled for 5:00pm and the second Boil is set for 6:30pm.
Folks can choose which time they want to eat.

Please RSVP to Claudia at 608-385-5030. We are not asking you to decide which boil you are planning to attend, but if you know for sure which time is best for you, please include that in your RSVP. Cost for the evening is $5.00 per person. Door Prizes will be awarded.

Musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by "Nick and Matt" playing duo acoustic guitars for the evening. Talent from right within the club!

Perfect weather, friends, food, entertainment, location, sunset and sailing......it just doesn't get any better than this!

Annual Fish Boil Regatta Race Rescheduled

Now to be held, Sunday, September 20th
Skippers Meeting is at 9:30a in the club shelter
Because the Fish boil Regatta was not held last Sunday (September 13) due to a lack of wind, the Race Committee (in consultation with the racers in attendance decided to reschedule it for this next Sunday, September 20. The Skippers Meeting will be held at 9:30am and rolls and juice will be served. Everyone really wanted to sail one more race for the year - now that’s the spirit!! Lunch will be provided after the races along with some great prizes. I hear that winds will be perfect at 12-15.

Thanks Claudia

Fall Workday is Scheduled for Saturday, October 17th beginning at 9:00am.

As usual, please bring “implements of clean up.”

We will announce any delay or postponement on the calendar page of the club’s website (www.lax-sailing.org). In the event that we must postpone, the rain date is the next day: Sunday, October 18th at 9:00am.

Thursday night races begin (first horn) no earlier than 6:30PM unless it is determined by the RC in consultation with the skippers that all boats are in the starting area and ready to race and not until a minimum of 3 boats are within the starting area. Subsequent races for makeup (makeup races cannot be banked) will be held as soon as possible after the end of the previous race. If a makeup is desired, the RC will use a course for the first race that finishes near what will be the starting area for the second race. Boats are to stay near the starting area so as not to miss the start of the second race. In the event that race management has not scored 8 races per series, one makeup race day for the late season of keel boats will be held, subject to the minimum number of boats required. Individual boat qualification for series scoring will still apply.
